New Dosha Pops Ecommerce Website

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged but let’s just say that we’ve been a little busy with our efforts of continuous improvement. Technology is ever-changing and trying to keep up with it is always something to keep mindful of, especially if you manage a digital property, like our ecommerce website.

If you haven’t noticed, we’ve gone through a website redesign. Well, it’s actually more of an overhaul, since we also migrated to a new ecommerce platform, but I’ll save you from the boring back-office reasons for switching and focus more on the stuff that we’re offering to you, as a different user experience.

1. It’s Still Responsive

Just like our last website, the design is still responsive, so the contents will be laid out in an elegant manner for your different devices. With an increase of mobile device usage, we’ve put more emphasis on the mobile user experience for this go-round.

2. Google Maps API

A real time-saver that we implemented for the user checkout process is Google Maps API’s Place Autocomplete Address Form.

Any avid Google Maps user will know just how useful the “full address” field is, as Google whittles down the endless list of possible addresses to a shortlist that you can then select from, in a matter of milliseconds.

3. Social Logins

Another time-saver that we implemented, for both checkouts and logins, is the ability to register a new or to log into an existing Dosha Pops account using your social media profile. The social network API’s that we implemented are:

  • Facebook;
  • Twitter;
  • Google; and
  • Instagram

For our first time customers, they’ll be able to create an account with us, lickety split, through this process. At the checkout page, they’ll see a prompt at the top of the page, which will give them an option to register using their social media account.

When new customers click on the option “For faster checkout, login or register using your social account,” they’ll see choices of social networks to choose from.

If you’re an existing customer and want to take advantage of social logins, don’t worry because we have you covered. When you log into your account, you can go to your “Account Details” and at the bottom of the page, you’ll see that you haven’t connected any social media accounts yet.

4. Emailing of Dosha Test Results

Our dosha test/quiz use to only be interactive online. Now we have introduced the option to email yourself the results.

Although this can be considered an incremental improvement to the fun quiz, it’s particularly useful for those who are new to Dosha Pops and the general concepts behind Ayurveda and the different doshas. By the way, if you are a newbie, it’s more fun to take the quiz first and the read up on what it means to be a kapha, pitta or vata.
