Dosha Poppin’ at Solstice Times Square
This year, June 21st marked the official celebration of International Yoga Day. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested this date in his UN Address because of its significant meaning worldwide. Plus, it’s the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. The day was devoted to Yoga by millions across the world, including Dosha Pops.
As part of the International Yoga Day celebration, we participated in Solstice in Times Square. Lucky for us, New York City and Time Square played a central role as a leading official public site in New York City for UN dignitaries and the Government of India.
We signed up for the 7am class. Yikes! Talk about an early start. Once we got through the long line of attendees, our group picked a spot to set up. Thanks to the event sponsor Athleta, we were given great swag bags including commemorative yoga mats that we used.
Our yoga teacher, Crystal McCreary, taught a great class. Even though there were a lot of people, we could hear our yoga teacher clearly and follow the yoga moves easily thanks to a few yoga instructor demonstrators from Bent on Learning.
We were happy to hear that Bent on Learning, a nonprofit that teaches yoga to children in public schools, was one of the event’s charity partners. Last year, this nonprofit was the recipient of our end-of-the year donation thanks to nominations from our candy fans.
Once we finished up our invigorating yoga class, we handed out Dosha Pops to the crowd. As you can see from all the smiles, our Ayurvedic herbal tea lollipops were a welcomed treat!
Our day of yoga and Dosha Pops was a big success. We met a lot of great people at Solstice Time Square and brought smiles to more than a few people. Thank you Dosha Poppers.
