Ayurveda Desserts For Valentines Day
As we all know the season of love is quickly approaching. Valentine’s Day has always been a day when you and your significant other do that “something special,” like for example, go out for (or even home cook) a romantic candlelight dinner. If your sweetie is Ayurvedic, we’ve got you covered! If neither of you are Ayurvedic but you want to try something fun and different, our dosha-specific desserts are sure to please. A Dosha test will help you discover which one of the three Doshas your special someone is, Kapha, Pitta and Vata, and once you’ve figured out which of these they are, you should try any (or even all three) of these three sweet fixes to end the perfect romantic evening. Even if you’re not planning on sticking to the lifestyle for the long haul, try these recipes for a different, fun and creative way to approach Valentines desserts!
Coconut Whip Cream à la fraise
Whipped cream filled strawberries are the perfect Valentine’s Day dessert. For something that will definitely get you onto cloud 9, try whipping up your own heavenly concoction of Coconut Whipped Cream. Easy to make, this simple recipe could be the romantic solution to the best day with your love. To aid digestion (and for extra flavor) add a few pinches of cardamom and rosewater to the whipped cream, and maybe even a few threads of saffron to add exotic color. Then all you have to do is core those big strawberries and fill them with whipped cream. Viola, now you have your no-bake Kapha dessert!
Pistachio Thousand Layer Crepe Cake
For the Pitta in your life, a great dessert would be the Pistachio Thousand Crepe Cake. This dessert would be an exquisite addition to the table because of its fluffy texture and creamy taste but, no worries, still easy to digest. With its similarity to the household favorite pancake, this tremendous dessert can keep any person satisfied. Think it’s missing something? Try adding that special Coconut Cream you made, or even top the cake with pomegranates which are perfect for your favorite Pitta!
Baked Peaches with Vanilla, Nutmeg and Cloves.
Finally, a Vata Dosha would appreciate the comfort-esque deliciousness of the Baked Peaches with Vanilla, Nutmeg & Cloves. This would be another dessert to have your date’s taste buds loving every bite. With the combination of Peaches and Cinnamon this meal will definitely be another good way to end the evening off. Again, add a touch of the Coconut Whipped Cream and maybe even a pinch of Cinnamon to the cream for that perfect extra flavor.
Still stumped on what to prepare? No worries! of course whenever in doubt you should turn to your favorite Dosha Pop flavor, and in light of the holidays the Wishful Pinking, made with pink rose petal tea, and Head a Over Hibiscus, made with hibiscus tea, are definitely your best bets!
