What is Ayurveda?

You’ve probably taken the dosha test and learned about your dominant dosha type, but what exactly is the Ayurvedic lifestyle and why do you have to take a test to enjoy (and fully receive the benefits of) Dosha Pops?
Ayur means Life and Veda means Science/Knowledge, together these words create Ayurveda which is the Science of Life. Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old system of natural healing that originated in the Vedic culture in India. Tibetan medicine and traditional Chinese medicine both have roots in Ayurveda, as well as early Greek medicine. It offers wisdom designed to help people stay vital and maintain their full potential. Ayurveda provides guidelines for maintaining the ideal balance with daily and seasonal routines that are all based on our doshas.
The Ayurvedic system uses three fundamental energies that pilot our inner and outer environments: movement, transformation and structures. These energies are called doshas. The primary forces that are the main characteristics of our mind and body are Vata Dosha (Wind), Pitta Dosha (Fire), and Kapha Dosha (Earth). The unique proportions of these forces help to shape our individual natures. The most important goal of Ayurveda is to identify your ideal state of balance and determine where you are out of balance. When imbalance occurs, the Ayurvedic system offers different ways to reestablish balance, which includes diet, herbs, aromatherapy, massage therapy, music, and meditation.
Ayurveda inspires and reminds us that health is a balanced and dynamic mixture of our environment, body, mind and spirit. Dosha Pops are designed to help maintain your balance. Once you find which dosha is prominent in your body, you can start your journey to a healthy and ayurvedic lifestyle, especially with one of the Dosha Pops packs! We need to remember that humans are a part of nature and we should balance our lives in more ways than one; make a conscious decision to bring Ayurveda into your life.
