Behind the Scenes: Our Journey to the 2014 Red Carpet Awards
When we launched our e-commerce site on December 18, 2013, we had no idea what to expect. I was at my law job nervous to go live. So many thoughts came rushing to my head..what if we get too many orders that we can’t fill or worse yet what if we don’t get any sales? What if no one likes us? What if , what if, what if. I’ve put my heart and soul into creating Dosha Pops.
Well on that amazingly beautiful stressfully-life-changing day and hour-and-a-half after the launch, I received a call requesting Dosha Pops for the GRAMMYs and the Oscars. What did I do? Absolutely nothing, I ignored the request. Yes, you heard it right, I ignored the call thinking it was a hoax. I remained in denial for three days. Fortunately, I have a great friend and fellow Dosha Popper who convinced me that the request was legitimate and so began my journey to these red carpet events!
We had a lot of challenges to overcome to meet all of the awards deadlines. We had never made candy for an event that was larger than 100 people. We make small batch candy. Suddenly, my life turned into utter chaos. My days were filled with reviewing legal documents and my nights and weekends were filled with making thousands of lollipops. Creating a marketing campaign and sourcing luxury packaging were also challenging. Lucky for us, everything came together and we met all of our deadlines. In the end, we were a big hit in the swag bags!
