The Creation of Dosha Pops
I started learning how to make hard candy with the guidance of chefs and sugar experts. After long nights and quite a bit of burned candy, I finally got the hang of it. Next, I needed to perfect my recipes. My classes in Ayurveda and Ayurvedic cooking helped me figure out combinations of herbal teas, spices and essential oils for specific doshas. Additionally, I consulted my Ayurveda doctor to ensure that these combinations were for the correct doshas. I created the following six flavors:
- Chai Me Up which is made of pure cane sugar and chai spiced holy basil tea
- Velvet Rope which is made of pure cane sugar and chicory root tea
- Inner Glow which is made with pure cane sugar, turmeric root tea, ginger and lemon
- Mytea Pomegranate is made with pure cane sugar, rooibos tea and pomegranate
- Head Over Hibiscus is made with pure cane sugar and hibiscus flower tea
- Wishful Pinking is made with pure cane sugar and pink rose tea
Once I created all six Dosha Pops flavors, I needed to see if people liked them as much as I did. Luckily, many of my friends and family have sweet tooths. My goal was to give my new lollipops to them for the holidays. These taste testers gave me great feedback. Consequently, I took their advice and made some adjustments to my recipes. The next step was to bring Dosha Pops to the public.
